I'm really bad at this

I'm really bad at this whole blogging thing. Unless I have some kind of purpose to it other than personal reasons. I know that I was going to do the whole Feckless (which means pointless by the way) Friday thing, but I haven't updated in a couple weeks.. Again.

As usual, we have been SUPER busy. I suppose it's just life. We moved out of our cozy home in our little fishing town, to the only city on the island, which was over an hour away.
The place we are renting now pretty much sucks, but it was the only thing available immediately and would take our two dogs! But, it's a roof over our heads, in a place with much more oppurtunity for Merlin, Lily and I.

I have actually just expanded my business. Well I am in the process of it. Just got officially licensed as a federal and provincial, trademarked business!! And put in orders for a bunch of new products today, so I am SUPER stoked to launch these new products in early November.

I am also trying to find a web designer or team who I can work with at a reasonable price. I may have found one, just waiting on her reply. The site isn't terrible, but there are definitely some major changes that need to be made, it doesn't really reflect anything original about myself or my business right now. I also need a logo, and as I am not really the artistic type, I need someone to do that for me asap.

Apparently my birthday is in a couple days, I will be 22. I just never expected to be where I am today on my 22nd birthday. I am thankful that I am here though, with my best friend and my daughter.

I am also gearing up for Lily's birthday on November 13th. I have no idea what to do for it, as we don't really know anyone well enough to invite them to her party, let alone enough people to call it a party. I suppose it will be just the three of us, which should be nice. I need to learn how to bake a cake from scratch and decorate it nicely for my little bug. I want to make a ladybug cake...I hope I'm able too.

As Halloween is fast approaching as well, I want to leave you with a couple pictures that I couldn't wait until Halloween to post! I don't think we will be having three kids, but if we do, this will be our family Halloween costume, I love it! A BLT!!

I also couldn't wait until Halloween to post this:

Feckless Friday

To get things started I hope someone at least gives a smirk over these, some of them had me actually laughing out load, the following are accounts from official court records. Showing that court recorders really do write down everything you say, even when you wish they hadn't. Check back next week for more.
Lawyer: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "Did you check for blood pressure?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "Did you check for breathing?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "How can you be so sure, Doctor?"
Witness: "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar."
Lawyer: "But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?"
Witness: "Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere."

Lawyer: "Now sir, I'm sure you are an intelligent and honest man--"
Witness: "Thank you. If I weren't under oath, I'd return the compliment."

Lawyer: "How many times have you committed suicide?"
Witness: "Four times."

Lawyer: "You say that the stairs went down to the basement?"
Witness: "Yes."
Lawyer: "And these stairs, did they go up also?"

Feckless Organization/Article of the week:
Now I'm going to take down a path much more serious. Velociraptor Attacks. And luckily for us this being the first day of October, since October is Velociraptor Awareness Month
No seriously, Velociraptor attack is the 3rd leading cause of death for men age 27-29. It is quickly becoming a pandemic. Haven't heard of it? Well at www.velociraptors.info they do not take this lightly, and I am here to help educate you a little more about raptors and why they are a danger to YOU.
The velociraptor is a bipedal carnivore with a long, stiffened tail and can be distinguished from other dromaeosaurids by its long and low skull, with an upturned snout. It bores a relatively large, sickle-shaped claw, typical of dromaeosaurid and troodontid dinosaurs. This enlarged claw, up to 67 millimeters (2.6 in) long around its outer edge, is a predatory device, used to tear into the prey, delivering a fatal blow.
Velociraptors are often found on tropical islands, converted to millionarie amusement parks, but are commonly being sighted in the Pacific Northwest. Of the essential facts you should know about velociraptors:
  • Velociraptors hunt in packs, and are known to form an equilateral triangle around their prey.
  • Velociraptors can accelerate 4 m/s2, with a top speed of 25 m/s on open terrain, 10 m/s while wounded, and 10 m/s in indoor laboratories.
  • Velociraptors can open doors, but are slowed by them. They can open an initial door in approximately 5 minutes, and will take half that time for each subsequent door.
  • Velociraptors do not know fear.
(all info taken from American Society for Velociraptor Attack Prevention)
Please see their website for more info and how to check your home for Velociraptors.

Lastly, I want to introduce my Random Product of the Week.

This week we have the Zaky. The award winning therapeutic, bonding and positioning pillow. Ergonomically designed to help the baby feel comfortable and protected while assisting parents and their children feel closer to each other.

It is a soft but weighed pillow, partially filled - so that it conforms to the baby's body - that imitates the look, feel, weight, scent, and warmth of the parents’ hand and forearm.

-Upon further research, I did find out that apparently this ridiculous thing actually does have some background info as to why it could be beneficial. But really?? I think maybe, you should just hold your baby.
And I know, that as a mom myself, you don't always have the energy or the patience left to hold your baby, but I think this is just creepy.
